I'm a positive and dedicated tutor who likes to help students develop learning skills so that they can become self-sufficient learners in the long-term. I help students identify their strengths and talents, and we take advantage of those to help the student learn in the most effective way possible. I customize my approach based on the learning style and needs of each student. My experiences as a tutor includes helping high school students in calculus, geometry, and algebra, and I was able to utilize different teaching methods to help students in whatever way was most effective for them. I made sure students truly understood the concepts before moving on. I can also assist students in subjects like biology, chemistry, physics, geography, environmental science, middle school math, elementary school math, earth sciences, social sciences, English, reading, essays, literature, social studies, American history, pre-calculus, and test preparation. Currently I am attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to earn my undergraduate biology degree along with sociology and psychology minors. I'm excited to work with students individually and help them reach their goals. When I have free time outside of academics, I like hockey, football, baseball, reading, knitting, practicing photography, baking, shopping, and travel.
