Experience

-Interned in Jackson County Public schools (Jackson County, NC) as ESL assistant during undergrad. -Volunteer Interpreter, Jackson County Health Clinic -1200 SAT score -I am interested in becoming a tutor to share my love of learning with others. I am an outgoing person and feel that I have the ability to engage others in the learning process as well as being able to make the experience fun and impactful. -As an anthropology student I studied Central and South American cultures past and present, pre-historic African cultures, the history of agriculture and civilization, human evolution, human origins, and human anatomy. -As a Spanish student I studied language variation, grammar, classic literature and culture, popular culture and film, and I also undertook a study abroad program at UDLA in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico which consisted of living with a Mexican family in an immersion Spanish program that attributed to my conversational fluency. As an undergraduate I presented an Ethnographic research project that I completed with a fellow student at the Southern College Health Association conference as the only student presenters. The presentation was an audio-documentary that was compiled from interviews of students and campus personnel concerning food, eating, and nutritional awareness on campus.
